How to List an Event in Sri Lanka: An Organiser’s Preparation Checklist

Preparing an event listing in Sri Lanka is easier when the facts, contact details and artwork are ready together. A clear listing helps visitors decide whether they can attend and gives them the right route for booking questions. This checklist follows the information used in the Events in Sri Lanka event editor, checked on 18 October 2026.

More details

Prepare the identity and location Provide the event's exact public title, organiser and suitable category. Include the year as well as the date. For a physical event, supply the country, district, city and exact venue, with an accurate map link where available. A city name alone is not enough for someone arranging a journey. Identify an online programme clearly rather than giving it a physical venue that attendees cannot visit. Separate the schedule from the booking information Supply start and end dates and the actual hours in Sri Lanka local time. Explain overnight finishes using the correct next-day date. If a final hour has not been announced, say so; do not turn an administrative placeholder into a claimed programme time. Give the official booking or information link and specify what the ticket price covers. Where admission has not been published, describe it as unpublished rather than free. Provide contacts with clear roles Include a usable local enquiry number and identify whether it reaches the organiser, venue or ticketing service. Supply a separate WhatsApp number if one is published. Check the digits against the original source. The Events in Sri Lanka publisher contact is for website and listing enquiries; it should not be substituted for an unrelated organiser's ticket or access contact. Choose readable source images Use relevant original artwork or photographs and retain their source. The site's event form requests a square flyer of at least 1280 × 1280 pixels and a banner of at least 1920 × 600 pixels. Crop carefully so the subject remains visible. Avoid stretching an image, adding black padding or placing a new caption box across official artwork. Keep the cover clear enough for the website's title overlay. Check the finished public page After saving, review the title, dates, venue, contact links and both images on the public listing. Recheck the booking destination and correct any cropped information. Send later postponement or venue updates promptly so the listing stays useful.
