If you are looking for events in Kandy in December 2026, a running morning and a healthcare exhibition offer two very different ways to plan a visit. They take place on different weekends and in different venues. Use the event type to decide how much time, preparation and registration you need, rather than choosing solely from a calendar date.
6 December: Kandy Half Marathon Kandy Half Marathon 2026 takes place at Gatambe Sports Ground on 6 December. Single Tree Events lists a 6 AM–noon event window and a 6:15 AM race start. The programme includes 21.1 km, 10 km, 5 km and 2 km options, so make sure you are reading the conditions for your chosen distance. Registration starts from LKR 3,000; that starting figure should not be assumed to cover every category. 12–13 December: MedEx Expo Kandy MedEx Expo Kandy 2026 is announced for 12–13 December at Kandy City Centre. The organiser’s exhibition scope includes healthcare, medical equipment, hospitals, laboratories, Ayurveda, nutrition and education providers. It is a different kind of visit from a public performance: people considering trade participation should ask about exhibitor arrangements, while visitors should confirm access and opening hours. Plan each venue separately For the race, verify bib collection, reporting instructions and the start arrangements with the organiser before travelling. For the exhibition, ask the organiser for confirmed daily visitor hours and any admission requirements. The published sources do not establish that every component is free or that all visitors can enter without registration. Exact venue information matters more than a listing that says only “Kandy”. Build a realistic Kandy itinerary Keep the two weekends separate in your plans and allow time for the purpose of your visit. A runner may need an early arrival and a place to keep belongings; an exhibition visitor may want time to speak with several stands.
